A Japanese company has developed a gadget that allows you to take a comfortable nap in the office. Inspired by portable massage chairs, the product fits to support your face and chest without pinching your arms when you lean forward while sleeping.
Gogo no Makura or "Afternoon Pillow" was developed by Atex, a wellness equipment and bedding company. 43-year-old Natsuki Sato, who is in charge of development, noticed colleagues who were sleeping on their desks during lunch breaks.
During her research, she discovered that in many cases, sleeping on a table causes excessive tension in the shoulders and other parts of the body, which leads to numbness in the arms and discomfort in the neck and back.
The pillow is 31cm long and 24cm wide and can support your head and chest. There is a hole for the face, as well as space for the natural position of the hands on the table, reports ithome.com.
The angle of Gogo no Makura can be adjusted in three positions (from 10 to 45 degrees). There is also a timer for up to 60 minutes (1 minute increments) that will gently wake the user with vibration.
Sales will begin October 15th for $60. At the pre-order stage, hundreds of people lined up for the device.
