Two representatives of the youth team of Turkmenistan in Muay Thai Byashim Byashimov and Kemal Dovletov became bronze medalists of the Thai boxing tournament at the II Games of the CIS countries in the Republic of Belarus.
Both athletes reached the semi-final stage, where they lost to their rivals in stubborn confrontations.
Byashim Byashimov in the weight category up to 71 kg could not reach the final of the tournament, losing to Azerbaijani Khayal Aliyev, however, having shown a worthy fight in the duel for bronze, the Turkmen athlete was awarded the third step of the podium.
In the other semi-final in the weight category up to 75 kg, Turkmen Thai boxer Kemal Dovletov lost to Belarusian athlete Semyon Stupakevich, thereby bringing another bronze medal to the Turkmen team.
The final bouts in all weight categories and the Muay Thai award ceremony will take place in Vitebsk on August 13.
II Games of the CIS countries are held in Belarus from 4 to 14 August in 20 sports. More than 2.2 thousand athletes, representing more than 20 states, take part in them. The solemn closing ceremony will take place on August 13 at the “Minsk- Arena”.
It should be noted that the national team of Turkmenistan was placed on the seventh line in terms of the total number of medals at the II Games of the CIS countries in Belarus. The Turkmen team now has 13 awards (three silver and ten bronze medals).
