The “Asia Dauysy” (Voice of Asia) festival returned to the Medeo high-mountain skating rink after almost 20 years. For three days, famous performers and groups with their famous hits surprised and delighted the audience, every day presenting a new concert program, Sputnik reports.
"Voice of Asia" is a visiting card of Kazakhstan. For the first time "Asia Dauysy" sounded in the 90s and for the next 15 years became a brand and one of the most significant cultural events of the continent. Performers from hundreds of countries around the world - Toto Cutugno, Patricia Kaas, Sting and Boney M and others - performed at a unique venue. For aspiring artists, the festival was a bright start to a career and a stepping stone. Today, the event once again brought together star performers and guests from different countries. The performances were dedicated to the legends of Kazakhstani and world music.
“This is our heritage, this is our pride! By "Asia Dauysy" they recognized Kazakhstan. They said: “Wow, Medeo! Voice of Asia! It's cool, it's such a big festival! We know Kazakhstan from this competition. Such was the excitement at the time,” singer, composer, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Marzhan Arapbayeva said. For the first time, she appeared on the “Asia Dauysy” stage more than 20 years ago, fulfilling her main dream.
Each song, as before, sounded live. The musical accompaniment of the symphony orchestra gave a special flavor to the performances of artists at Medeo.
The headliners of the evening are the Uzbek band “Yalla”. They are called out of competition and time. They were the first to receive the award of the revived festival and so far the only winners. A surprise from the category of retro was the performance of the legendary Swedish band "Secret Service" and a Black Eyed Peas solo concert.
“This is a start-concert. We announce that the site has started working. “Asia Dauysy” appeared again in Kazakhstan, our call signs sounded, and we announce: there will be a competition from next year. Send applications,” Armanzhan Baitasov, general producer of the festival said.
