A personal exhibition of works by People's Artist of Turkmenistan, sculptor Babasary Annamuradov, will open in Moscow on July 15 at the State Museum of Oriental Art. This is the first exposition of the Turkmen sculptor in the Russian capital, although his works are well known to the Moscow audience, writes Kultura.RF.

Many works of Babasary are found abroad, in private collections, as well as in museums in Russia. However, the Moscow exhibition displays works that are the property of the author.
The Oriental Museum will feature more than 40 sculptural and graphic works, which can give an idea of the high professionalism and features of the master's work. The project will show different facets of the work of one of the leading sculptors of Turkmenistan, who created a number of iconic monumental works.

The artist works with different materials: wood, bronze, stone. His works are characterized by subtle psychologism, mild humor or restrained poetry, philosophical depth. The exhibition will feature about 20 sculptures made over the past four decades.
In parallel with the sculptural works, about 40 graphic works from 1990–2022 will be presented, mostly portraits and self-portraits made in pencil, pastel, felt-tip pen.

Now Babasary Annamuradov is 82 years old. He was awarded the title of People's Artist of Turkmenistan, Honorary Doctor of the State Academy of Arts, Honorary Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts. For almost 20 years he was chairman of the Union of Artists of the country.

The exhibition will run until August 27. The State Museum of Oriental Art is located at the address: Moscow, Nikitsky Boulevard, 12A.
