The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan has expanded the list of universities diplomas of which are recognized in the country. Relevant changes included in the "Procedure for the recognition in Turkmenistan of documents on higher and secondary vocational education issued in foreign countries".

The list includes higher education institutions that are included in the Moscow International rating named "Three Missions of the University" and the QS World University Rankings.

In 2022, 1800 universities from 103 countries were included in the "Three University Missions" rating. Among the leaders of the ranking are Harvard, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Oxford and University College London.

QS World University Rankings is an annually updated university ranking compiled by the British company Quacquarelli Symonds, which specializes in analyzing the activities of universities around the world. The QS rating is regarded as one of the three most authoritative university rankings in the world.
