President Serdar Berdimuhamedov dismissed Shahym Abdrahmanov from the post of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers in connection with the transition to another job.
The head of state appointed Ashyrguly Begliyev as the new deputy Prime Minister in charge of the fuel and energy sector, who has been an adviser to the President of Turkmenistan on oil and gas issues since April 2022 until now.
The head of state announced this decision on Friday, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on the results of the socio-economic development of the country for 2022.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov also outlined the main tasks facing the industry. These are, first of all, ensuring reliable supply of natural gas to domestic and foreign consumers, further industrial development of the Galkynysh field, exploration and development of hydrocarbon deposits in the Caspian region, including with the involvement of foreign companies, construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline.
In the same row, there is an increase in oil production, an increase in the production capacity of the complex of oil refineries in Turkmenbashy and the Seydi oil refinery, etc.
Ashyrguly Begliyev previously worked in various senior positions in the oil and gas sector. From 2015 to 2017, he headed the State Concern "Turkmengaz". Prior to that, he worked as Deputy Director of the State Agency for the Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources under the President of Turkmenistan.
