Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, with shared participation, will build an elevator for storing 100 thousand tons of Kazakh wheat in the Serkhetabat district of the Mary region of Turkmenistan, Deputy Prime Minister for Agriculture Annageldy Yazmyradov said.
The facility will be built to establish cooperation with Kazakhstan on the transit of wheat and flour to Afghanistan through Turkmenistan. This will speed up deliveries and make them regular.
The elevator is planned to be built on the land of the livestock farm "Chemenabat". A workshop for the manufacture of bags will also be erected nearby, which will be used for cargo transportation.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a working meeting on Monday ordered to study in more detail the proposal for the construction of the facility, noting its importance for the development of relations between the countries of the region and the economic recovery of Afghanistan.
