President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov issued reprimands to two vice-premiers - Shahym Abdrakhmanov, who oversees the oil and gas sector, and Esen Orazgeldiev, who is in charge of the agro-industrial complex.
This was stated during a government meeting on Friday, which discussed the results of the industries for the first quarter of the year.
Announcing a disciplinary sanction in the form of a severe reprimand to Abdrakhmanov, the president pointed to the lack of progress in the implementation of plans for the development of the fuel and energy complex, despite the support provided by the state, and demanded that work be done to correct shortcomings in the management of this area as soon as possible.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov also gave a number of other instructions to increase production capacity, develop fields, attract foreign investment, accelerate the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India transnational gas pipeline, and intensify other natural gas export projects.

The head of state justified the reprimand to Orazgeldiyev by shortcomings in the work of governors and heads of the agro-industrial complex, poor progress in the preparation of the land cadaster, etc.
The President said that the results of the activities of the heads of regions will be closely considered following the results of the grain harvesting campaign. Instructions were also given to expand the area of land for the cultivation of fruits and vegetables, increase exports and reduce imports of agricultural products, saturate the domestic market with it, and digitalize the agro-industrial complex.
