Oriented on making people closer

On April 8, it is the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation. This date became one of the topics of the briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, held the day before, on April 6.

At a meeting of the State Security Council of Turkmenistan on Wednesday, where organizational and personnel issues were being resolved, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov dismissed Ovezdurdy Khodzhanyyazov from the post of interior minister.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov abolished the post of Deputy Prime Minister for Security, Military and Legal Affairs. He announced this decision at a meeting of the State Security Council of Turkmenistan on Wednesday, where the heads of law enforcement agencies were approved.

President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Muhammad Shakil Munir paid a visit to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the capital of Pakistan and held talks with the leadership of the diplomatic mission on the possibilities of developing bilateral trade relations, taking into account the existing potential of the parties.

On 5 April 2022, with the active assistance of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia, an online meeting on the Single Window system was held between the specialists of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Customs Department of Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia.

“Turkmenistan welcomed the role that India is playing during its current membership in the UN Security Council and highly appreciated the initiatives of the UN Security Council put forward by India aimed at reforming multilateralism and combating terrorism, based on the Indian ideal of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, i.e. “the world as one family,” Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Ram Nath Kovind said in a joint statement following talks in Ashgabat.

As a result of negotiations between the head of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the President of India Ram Nath Kovind, agreements were reached on further trade and economic cooperation between the countries, which were recorded in a joint Turkmen-Indian statement.

Deepening interaction between Turkmenistan and India is in the mutual interest aimed at further rapprochement and mutual understanding of peoples in the long term, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said on Saturday after talks with President Ram Nath Kovind.

During his visit to Ashgabat, President of India Ram Nath Kovind called Turkmenistan an important partner country and thanked for supporting New Delhi's initiatives at the UN, Indian media write.
