In 2021, Turkmenistan produced the largest volume of natural gas in 30 years of independent development - 83 billion 772.9 million cubic meters. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for Fuel and Energy Complex Shahym Abdrakhmanov, reporting on the results of the past year in the oil and gas industries at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during a working video conference on Tuesday, discussed with government members the proposed construction of a processing industrial complex on the Turkmen Afghan border.

Turkmenistan will consider the possibility of transiting its natural gas through neighboring states to the countries of the Middle and Near East. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed Deputy Prime Minister for Fuel and Energy Complex Shahym Abdrakhmanov to study this issue at a working meeting on Tuesday.

Last week, eleven tenders were announced by the Ministry of Industry, SC "Turkmengas", SC "Turkmenhimiya" and SC "Turkmengeologiya", Turkmenbashy Complex of Oil Refineries, PETRONAS, ENI and Tatneft Companies, as well as the Hazar Consortium in Turkmenistan.
