On April 10, with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the final section of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat high-speed highway—the Mary-Turkmenabat section—was inaugurated in the Lebap velayat. Now, 600 kilometers of state-of-the-art highway connect the capital and the eastern region of the country, transforming Turkmenistan into a key logistics hub along the revived Silk Road.

Technological Excellence and Global Standards: This project, which began in 2019, has become a test for domestic business—construction was carried out by members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan. The result has been confirmed by the international expert community. The French company GEA and the Chinese company Shandong Jiangfeng New Material Technology awarded certificates of compliance with the most stringent standards:

Security and IT: Video surveillance, traffic monitoring, and cybersecurity systems (ISO 27001).

Quality and Accuracy: Measurement management (ISO 10012) and quality management (ISO 9001).

Environment: Responsible approach to the environment (ISO 14001).

The six-lane, 34.5-meter-wide highway is designed according to Category I standards: a multi-layer road surface made of synthetic materials and high-strength asphalt concrete guarantees durability under extreme loads.

Economic Impact: Speed and Integration. "The high-speed highway will ensure the transportation of passengers and cargo in the shortest possible time," President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized at the opening ceremony. The new highway not only connects the provinces; it integrates Turkmenistan into the global transportation system.

Comfortable Infrastructure. A complete ecosystem for drivers and passengers has been created along the highway: parking lots, rest areas, gas stations, and modern traffic control posts. Traffic management is carried out by an intelligent system that transmits real-time traffic data.

The completion of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat highway is a powerful impetus for regional development and a clear example of the implementation of the country's transport strategy, aimed at sustainable development within the framework of the UN Decade on Sustainable Transport (2026–2035).
