Monforts plans to deepen its cooperation with Turkmenistan’s textile industry, focusing on targeted technological upgrades and efficiency improvements rather than building new large-scale facilities. This was reported by Trend, citing Monforts Sales Manager Thomas Peffgen.

“Our latest clients in Turkmenistan are installing MONTEXCOAT lines for coating polypropylene fabrics for the home textile market,” he noted.

According to Peffgen, like many textile-producing countries, Turkmenistan is entering a stage where modernization and efficiency improvements are becoming just as important as the creation of new production capacities. Following significant investments in spinning, weaving, and knitting infrastructure over the past decade, the focus is increasingly shifting toward improving finishing processes, reducing energy consumption, and advancing automation in production.

“Where opportunities arise, Monforts is well positioned to support such initiatives. Modern heat-setting and finishing systems deliver measurable improvements in energy efficiency, digital process control, and reproducibility — factors that are especially important for integrated factories seeking to strengthen their export competitiveness. Future cooperation is likely to reflect this evolution,” he added.

Peffgen emphasized that future cooperation between the company and Turkmenistan is expected to focus on technological enhancement and optimization of existing installations rather than the implementation of large-scale greenfield projects, reflecting the sector’s transition from rapid capacity expansion to value-added production.

He also noted that Turkmenistan’s textile industry continues to rely on a structured “from cotton to finished product” model, supported by European engineering expertise, where finishing technologies play a key role in industrial development.

“Our involvement has been focused on the finishing stage — where woven and knitted materials are transformed into market-ready textile products. As the country continues to strengthen quality consistency and export orientation, our finishing technologies remain central to its industrial development,” the manager concluded.

It should be noted that Monforts is a German company specializing in the design and manufacture of high-tech equipment for the textile industry. Founded in 1884, it is one of the leading global suppliers of finishing systems for textile mills. The company offers solutions such as stenter machines, sanforizing systems, and continuous dyeing technologies aimed at improving product quality and production efficiency. Monforts is also actively developing sustainable technologies, including energy- and resource-saving fabric processing methods, and maintains strong ties with major textile manufacturers worldwide.
