Large-scale modernization of internet and mobile communications are expected in Turkmenistan
The Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan has announced an international tender for the supply, installation, and commissioning of telecommunications equipment to modernize the multiservice data transmission network (internet). This was reported by the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan.”
In addition, the closed joint-stock company “Altyn Asyr” has announced an open international tender for the procurement of cellular base transceiver stations of the fifth (5G) and fourth generations (4G+, including VoLTE and LTE-Advanced), as well as for the modernization of the company’s existing mobile network hardware and software systems.
The tender consists of two lots. The first covers the development, design, supply, and installation of technological equipment for the expansion of the TM CELL network in Ashgabat, as well as in the Ahal, Balkan, and Dashoguz regions of Turkmenistan. The second lot provides similar work in the Lebap and Mary regions of the country.
