A Turkmen-Chinese Roundtable Discussion, "Women and Society," Was Held in Ashgabat
A roundtable discussion, "Turkmenistan-China: Women and Society," was held at the Archabil Hotel in Ashgabat. Organized by the Chinese Embassy, the meeting became a profound dialogue about how feminine energy is transforming the economies and cultures of both countries.
Charter d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy, Ms. Zhong Hua, addressed the participants and presented impressive data that changes perceptions of modern China. Today, Chinese women are not only homemakers but also powerful engines of progress. The following data was cited:
The average life expectancy for women in China is 80 years;
46% of all scientific and technical personnel in the country are women;
More than 50% of internet entrepreneurs are also women.
"In China, they say: 'Women hold up half the sky.' This means our potential is limitless: what men can do, women can do too," Ms. Zhong Hua emphasized.
Ms. Zhong Hua particularly emphasized the significance of the visit to China of the delegation led by Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice President for Medical Affairs of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care. This visit last August gave a powerful impetus to cooperation in protecting children's rights and supporting motherhood, strengthening ties between the All-China Women's Federation and Turkmen organizations.
China has confirmed its commitment to supporting the global women's movement: over the next five years, Beijing will invite 50,000 women to participate in training courses and launch 1,000 local social projects.
Oguljennet Berdiliyeva, Chair of the Women's Union of Turkmenistan, delivered a response, after which the dinner dialogue turned into a kaleidoscope of success stories.
The presentations were astonishingly broad in scope: from preserving the fine art of national embroidery (Jennet Agayeva) to conquering the skies in civil aviation (Lachin Dadekova). Turkmen women scientists, educators, and businesswomen demonstrated that Turkmenistan has created a unique model where innovation harmoniously blends with national spiritual values.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Ms. Zhong Hua addressed ORIENT readers with a warm message:
"I wish all Turkmen women a spring-like mood, a sea of smiles, and may peace and harmony always reign in your homes."
