Google has introduced an important update in the beta version of Android 17 that eliminates one of the system’s oldest issues — micro-lags during scrolling and animations. Developers have completely redesigned how the operating system processes tasks so that the interface remains responsive even under heavy CPU load.

The main change affects the system message processing mechanism. Previously, tasks in the queue could block each other: while one complex operation was running, others had to wait. This caused dropped frames, which users perceived as unpleasant screen stutters.

Android 17 introduces a new system called DeliQueue. Its principle resembles a modern electronic queue: tasks no longer block the entire system but run in parallel. This allows the interface to react instantly to touches without waiting for background processes to finish.

Tests showed that interface stuttering decreased by 7.7% in system apps and by 4% in third-party applications. In addition, smartphones will launch apps slightly faster. Importantly, this is a fundamental code improvement that will positively affect all devices updated to the new OS version.

For everyday users, this means more comfortable device use: social media feeds will scroll more smoothly, and window-opening animations will look more natural. If you want to try the feature now, the Android 17 beta is already available to Pixel device owners through the early access program.
