Ashgabat, February 20 | ORIENT. Turkmenistan has announced an international tender for the construction of the Ashgabat-Dashoguz highway. The project includes not only roadway modernization but also the construction of new bridges along the entire route, transforming the desert road into a high-tech transport corridor.

At a Cabinet of Ministers meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Baymyrat Annamammedov announced plans to thoroughly upgrade one of the country's main logistics arteries. This involves a comprehensive modernization in line with international standards.

The Ashgabat-Dashoguz highway is the shortest route connecting the northern region with the capital. With rapidly growing freight traffic and the country's expanding transport and transit potential, its renovation is becoming a national priority.

What the reconstruction will bring: modern pavement and new engineering structures (bridges) will significantly reduce travel times; the new highway will become a key link on international routes, ensuring uninterrupted freight transport between neighboring countries; and service and infrastructure will be elevated to a qualitatively new international level.

The announcement of an international tender underscores the transparency and seriousness of Turkmenistan's commitment to attracting the best global technologies. This is an opportunity for leading construction companies to showcase their solutions in the region's unique natural and climatic conditions.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, approving the proposal, emphasized the road's status as one of the country's key highways. The highway's reconstruction will be a logical continuation of the ambitious strategy to transform Turkmenistan into a Eurasian crossroads.
