XV Festival of National Cultures in Grodno Will Unite Representatives of 42 Countries
From June 5 to 7, Grodno will become the center of a large-scale celebration of unity and traditions. The anniversary festival will bring together a record number of participants — representatives of 42 nationalities, which is six more than at the previous forum, BELTA reports.
Qualifying rounds have already been completed in all regions of Belarus, identifying more than 800 participants. This year, new colors will be added to the usual multicolored palette of diasporas: for the first time, Gabonese, Yemenis, Gagauz, Udmurts, Turks, and Czechs plan to take part in the festival. Foreign students will give a special energy to the holiday, presenting their countries in joint performances with professional artists.
The organizers have prepared several innovations in the city's decoration. The main stage will move to Lenin Square, and Soviet Square will become the home for a large Belarusian homestead. Accordingly, the route of the festive procession, which traditionally opens the first day of the festival, will also change.
Despite the changes in locations, the spirit of the holiday will remain the same. Guests can expect cozy national homesteads with folk dances, ancient rituals, and the famous cuisine of different peoples of the world. The symbol of the anniversary "fest" will remain the seven-flowered blossom, uniting the ornaments of all participants in its petals.
