The largest Six Flags amusement park has opened in Saudi Arabia
Near Riyadh, Six Flags Qiddiya City — a massive theme park — has begun operations, transforming endless sands into a global tourism hub. The project has already made a name for itself with three world records, showcasing the most extreme rides on the planet.
Six Flags Qiddiya City covers an area of 32 hectares and is the first facility of the famous chain built outside North America. It is not just a site with rides, but the heart of the Qiddiya megaproject — a future global center for esports, sports, and arts. Construction of the complex took four years, and today it offers visitors 28 attractions, an advanced shopping zone, and world-class restaurants.
The park’s main highlights are three unique roller coasters that have officially entered engineering history:
• Falcon’s Flight: The tallest, longest, and fastest roller coaster in the world. The train reaches speeds of up to 250 km/h.
• Iron Rattler: Holds the world record as the tallest tilted roller coaster.
• Spitfire: A ride with the highest “inversion” in the world — the point where passengers are upside down at maximum height.
The opening of the park marks an important stage of the “Vision-2030” program aimed at diversifying Saudi Arabia’s economy. For travelers, this means a new must-visit destination on the world map. In the near future, the region will also see the opening of the largest water park in the region, a modern stadium, and an arena for international gaming tournaments.
Despite temporary freezes of some construction projects in the country, Six Flags Qiddiya City confirms Saudi Arabia’s status as a nation capable of turning the boldest architectural and technical ideas into reality.
