Turkmenistan Launches Large-Scale Reconstruction of the Ashgabat–Dashoguz Highway

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has signed a resolution authorizing the launch of a major infrastructure project for the design, construction, and modernization of the strategic Ashgabat–Dashoguz highway. The transport corridor undergoing renovation spans 546 kilometers.
As part of the project’s implementation, the Ministry of Road Transport has been authorized to enter into contracts for the full scope of construction and engineering work.
A key feature of the new highway will be the construction of a modern 812-meter-long road bridge, alongside the comprehensive reconstruction of all existing bridges and engineering structures along the entire route. The project is being carried out under the country’s 2022–2028 Program for Socio-Economic Development and is intended to significantly boost transit potential and connectivity between the northern and central regions of the country.
