Ashgabat, February 6 | ORIENT. At the regular Cabinet of Ministers meeting chaired by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Friday, figures were announced that set the tone for the entire current year. January 2026 was more than just a calendar start for the country, but a demonstration of how public investment and digitalization are converting into real growth.

The key indicator—6.3% GDP growth—confirmed the sustainability of the national development model. Capital investment increased by 21.3%. The country is actively building, with a focus on modern infrastructure and social facilities. Retail turnover increased by 10.1%. This represents real money in the economy and evidence of the stable well-being of citizens.

The processing sector also posted strong results in January. The Turkmenhimiya State Concern demonstrated impressive results, achieving 170.8% of its plan. Deep processing of gas into fertilizers and polymers is becoming the country's second "gas engine." Oil and gas producers not only exceeded production plans (107-108%) but also increased gasoline (+26.5%) and liquefied gas (+22.1%) production.

Transport services grew by 13.3%. Leading the way were motor transport (+20.9%) and aviation (+19.8%), indicating the expansion of international corridors. Agriculture grew by 9.3%. While cotton fields are being prepared for sowing and wheat harvesting, agricultural processing plants (for example, Turkmenpagta, with a growth rate of 117.3%) are already showing significant results.

The diplomatic service is focused on preparing for the foreign visits of the President and the National Leader of the Turkmen People in 2026. At the same time, the Mejlis is actively updating human rights and environmental laws, adapting them to international standards.

Summing up the meeting, Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the results of January clearly demonstrate the country's achievements. However, there is no time to relax—an extended government meeting will be held next week.

This will be a key event: not only will the final results of 2025 be summarized, but the implementation of large-scale national and industry programs, previously issued instructions, will also be verified.
