Ashgabat, February 6 | ORIENT. Turkmenistan's chemical industry is demonstrating rapid growth: by the end of the first month of 2026, Turkmenhimiya State Concern became the undisputed leader in the industrial complex, fulfilling its plan by a record 170.8%. This result confirms the industry's status as a new driver of national exports.

This dramatic increase is the result of the country's largest gas chemical facilities reaching their design capacity. For example, the Garabogazkarbamid plant in the Balkan velayat produced 95,000 tons of urea, 25,000 tons more than planned.

The transition to the production of highly processed products is something President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has emphasized. The increase in urea and phosphate fertilizer production is directly linked to global demand for food security. Turkmenistan is becoming a key supplier for regional and global agricultural markets. The country confidently maintains its position as one of the world's leading producers of technical iodine, which is in demand in high-tech medicine and electronics.

In 2026, the focus will be on modernizing the Turkmenabat Chemical Plant, where capacity for the production of complex mineral fertilizers is being established, building new potash fertilizer production facilities in the Lebap velayat, and digitally monitoring all production processes to reduce energy costs.

Today, the chemical industry is more than just factories; it is Turkmenistan's "smart money." With a growth rate of 170%, the industry is becoming the foundation that allows the entire economy to confidently look to the future, regardless of fluctuations in raw material prices.
