The global venture capital market in 2026 is betting on intelligence—both human and artificial. While global giants like Y Combinator and 500 Global are accepting applications, ORIENT explored which of these doors are open to startups from Turkmenistan and what to pack before applying.

Part 1. Global Radar: February's Main Platforms

We analyzed current competitions and selected three areas where Turkmen projects have a real chance:

1. 500 Global (Eurasia Batch 10)

o Why it's a good fit: Turkmenistan is part of the Eurasia target region.

o Focus: Scalable IT products (SaaS, Fintech, Logistics).

o Chance: High, if the project has at least initial test sales.

2. Y Combinator (Spring 2026)

o Deadline: February 9th.

o Why it's a good fit: Everyone is accepted, regardless of citizenship.

o Difficulty: Extreme. This is the "Oscars" of the IT world. But even participating in the first round provides tremendous networking.

3. Google for Startups Accelerator (MENAT/CA)

o Focus: Projects using AI and cloud solutions.

o Bonus: Access to Google's technical capabilities and mentorship from Silicon Valley experts.

Part 2. How to Avoid Failures at the Start

To ensure that Ashgabat's application doesn't get lost among thousands of others, the project must meet the 2026 "gold standard":

• Pitch Deck in English. Forget Google Translate. The presentation must be in impeccable technical English.

• AI component. In 2026, investors are looking for projects that leverage data for results. If your startup automates logistics, demonstrate how AI predicts routes.

• Scalability. Competitions don't favor "local shops." Explain how your product, launched in Turkmenistan, will conquer the Central Asian or Gulf markets within a year.

Part 3. Where to Look for Domestic Support?

You don't have to rush to San Francisco right away. In February 2026, Turkmenistan saw a surge in activity at domestic platforms:

• Startup Academy: The main "forge" for project development.

• Turkmentelecom IT platforms: New grant initiatives are expected within the framework of the State Program for the Development of the Digital Economy for 2026–2028.

February is a time for short sprints. Don't wait for the "perfect product"; apply at the MVP (minimum viable prototype) stage. Global competitions often value the idea and the team more than the final revenue.
