Claude Turns into an Office: AI Bot Gets Direct Integration with Slack, Figma, and Canva
Anthropic has significantly expanded the capabilities of its chatbot Claude. With the introduction of a new standard, users can now open and fully use work tools such as Slack, Figma, Canva, and Asana without leaving the chat window. This turns an ordinary chat into a universal workspace, saving time by eliminating constant tab switching.
Previously, artificial intelligence could only offer advice or describe steps to perform actions in third-party services. Now, thanks to the MCP Apps extension, interactive windows of the applications themselves appear directly inside the chat. Users can:
• edit messages in Slack and manage tasks in monday.com;
• create presentations in Canva and work with graphics in Figma;
• analyze data in Amplitude and build charts in Hex.
Technology of the Future: Model Context Protocol
This update is based on the Model Context Protocol (MCP) — an open standard created by Anthropic in 2024. It enables any AI system to quickly and securely connect to external services through a universal mechanism. The protocol has already been adopted by major players such as Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI. At the end of 2024, stewardship of the standard was transferred to the Linux Foundation, ensuring its openness for all developers.
For everyday users, this means simplified collaboration: all tools are now “at hand” through the assistant. For companies, it results in cost savings, as there is no longer a need to build separate, complex integrations for each service.
Chatbots are no longer just conversational partners — they are becoming full-fledged operating systems for business. In the near future, Anthropic plans to add support for Salesforce products, and similar features are likely to appear soon among competitors as well.
