“Feel Korea!”: Turkmen Students Undergo Language Internship in South Korea
From January 19 to February 2, Korean language instructor A. Seyitberdiyeva and students of the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammed Azadi are taking part in the short-term program “Feel Korea! with KNU.” The training is conducted in the cities of Seoul and Chuncheon at Kangwon National University in the Republic of Korea.
The internship is organized within the framework of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the universities. The main objective of the trip is to develop practical communicative skills. Students majoring in Pedagogical Education attend daily classes where they improve their spoken and written Korean; practice everyday communication in the language; and study the spelling features of complex words.
The program also includes visits to national museums and acquaintances with natural landmarks of the Republic of Korea. Direct exposure to historical heritage and the lifestyle of the Korean people helps future linguists gain a deeper understanding of the nuances of the language they are studying.
Learning in a natural language environment serves as a powerful stimulus for rapid language acquisition. Such international experience broadens students’ horizons and contributes to their development as highly qualified specialists of international caliber.
