From January 25 to 31, representatives of Turkmenistan’s education system are taking part in prestigious professional development courses in Cambridge. The program is organized for senior university administrators from Central Asia in partnership with the Department of Publishing and Assessment of the University of Cambridge. This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

The main objective of the visit is to introduce international best practices into the national education system. The program focuses on developing leadership skills based on the PRESETT framework, a modern standard for training future teachers that enhances the effectiveness and quality of English language teaching.

What are university leaders learning?

The training modules cover the most relevant areas of modern education:

• Enhancing management and leadership skills in higher education institutions.

• Studying innovative methods of teaching English.

• Digitalization of education and the implementation of modern assessment systems.

• Development of next-generation academic curricula.

Initial outcomes of the visit

During the first modules, Turkmen specialists discussed teaching reforms and methods for monitoring educational processes. Participants analyzed Cambridge’s experience and identified priorities that can be adapted for higher education institutions in Turkmenistan. Special attention was given to how digital transformation can accelerate the training of teaching staff.

Cooperation with leading global educational centers such as Cambridge has a direct impact on the quality of student education within the country. It enables the training of specialists whose knowledge and skills meet international standards, which is a priority of the state policy of the President of Turkmenistan.
