Ashgabat, January 16 | ORIENT. Turkmenistan is taking an important step toward implementing a single-window system and paperless trade on an international scale. At a Cabinet of Ministers meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Nokerguly Atagulyev announced the creation of an Interdepartmental Working Group on Trade Facilitation.

This group will be the primary coordinator for the implementation of the Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-Border Trade Procedures in the Asia-Pacific Region (APR), which our country previously joined.

Global experience shows that the physical presence of goods is only half the battle. The main delays occur at the paperwork stage. The new group will implement standards that will enable:

Replace paper with digital. Customs and trade data exchange with partners in the Asia-Pacific region will be instantaneous.

Synchronize laws. Turkmen trade standards will fully comply with international UN requirements.

Expedite transit: For businesses, this means shorter border crossing times and lower costs. The creation of such a group is a signal to investors that Turkmenistan is a clear and transparent partner.

Having studied international practices, the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations is implementing a model that is already successfully operating in leading Asian economies.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, approving the proposal, ordered relevant work aimed at further expanding the geography of Turkmen exports.
