Google has introduced a major update to Gmail — the “AI Inbox” mode powered by the Gemini neural network. Instead of the usual list of emails, users will now see a personalized list of tasks and brief overviews of important topics.

Artificial intelligence automatically analyzes emails and suggests specific actions. For example, it may remind you to reply to a colleague on time or prepare for an upcoming meeting. This turns the inbox into a full-fledged task planner.

The main benefit of the update is significant time savings. The system prioritizes messages based on your correspondence and highlights what matters most. There is no longer a need to reread dozens of emails to grasp the key points or remember a forgotten task.

In addition, many AI-powered features are becoming free for all users. These include summaries of long email threads, writing suggestions for replies, and a smart assistant for composing messages. Paid subscribers will gain access to more advanced text analysis and proofreading tools.

Google has confirmed that personal emails are not used to train its neural networks. All new features can be disabled in the settings with a single click. The service is currently in testing but will soon be available to a wider audience.
