Samsung is preparing to launch the external solid-state drive Portable SSD P9, which will become the world’s first portable SSD with a capacity of 8TB featuring a USB4 interface. The device promises data transfer speeds of up to 4,000 MB/s, opening up new possibilities for content creation and data-intensive workflows.

The drive can store more than two million photos or up to 3,720 HD video files, though it can be used for any type of data. Its high speed enables real-time editing of video in resolutions of up to 12K without the need to copy files to a computer’s internal storage. This makes the Portable SSD P9 an ideal solution for professionals working with large media files.
