When Hearts Sound Together: An Inspiring Inclusive Concert Held in Mary
On December 7, Mary hosted a warm and truly inspiring event—the inclusive concert "Ýürekden – From the Heart," which brought together people of different generations and abilities on one stage: children, youth, pensioners, people with disabilities, and volunteers.
The event was organized by the Däp-Dessur Business Society, which implements social and cultural initiatives, with the support of the Mary branch of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan and the Children's Fund under the Magtymguly Youth Organization.
The concert aimed to create an open, inclusive space and support multifaceted talents. Opening the evening, Shirin Zhozhyeva, Director of the Däp-Dessur Business Society, set the emotional tone for the event:
"Today, those who carry warmth, talent, and courage in their hearts are on stage. Each performance is a small victory, a small miracle, a small story that can touch the heart."
The evening's program reflected this diversity: children's and national musical numbers were performed, students and teachers from the Mary Health and Educational Complex performed, the Däp-Dessur Active Pensioners' Club presented a dance composition, and members of the Bayramaly Physical Culture and Sports Club for the Disabled performed a theatrical performance.
Volunteers from the Mary branch of the National Red Crescent Society performed several musical pieces, including an instrumental duet and the touching song "Beautiful Far Away."
"When we perform on stage, we feel heard and seen. It gives us strength and inspiration to move forward," a participant from Bayramali shared.
A symbolic highlight of the evening was a large decorative patchwork panel—a gurama—created by the participants. At the entrance to the hall, each guest could leave their symbolic mark on the "heart," transforming the work of art into a collective effort, uniting everyone in attendance in a sign of unity and support.
The celebration was complemented by a small exhibition of handicrafts from the concert participants, reflecting their individuality, skill, and inner light.
The concert concluded with a joint performance of the song "Arkadagly Serdarym" and a commemorative photo session for the participants and guests.
This event marked another successful step in the work of the organizer, the Däp-Dessur Business Association, which specializes in promoting inclusive practices, supporting vulnerable groups, and preserving cultural heritage. Such social and cultural initiatives aim to strengthen community ties and develop volunteerism, promoting the values of kindness and cultural unity.
