Presentation: The President of Turkmenistan's Book on the Roots and Mission of Neutrality
On December 7, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted the official presentation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's new book, "Türkmenistanyň Bitaraplygy – parahatçylygyň we ynanyşmagyň aýdyň ýoly" (Turkmenistan's Neutrality – a Clear Path to Peace and Trust).
The ceremony, timed to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, brought together leaders and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, heads of diplomatic missions, and representatives of international organizations accredited in the country, as well as faculty and students of the Institute.
Speakers, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Aksoltan Atayeva, and Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia Kakha Imnadze, emphasized the publication's importance.
The book presents a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the country's policy of permanent neutrality. It emphasizes that the primary goal of neutrality is to channel Turkmenistan's geopolitical and geoeconomic potential toward ensuring peaceful life and constructive development, which fully complies with the state's international obligations.
The book devotes particular attention to the ancient roots of Turkmen neutrality. The authors noted that the country's modern diplomacy is viewed as a direct continuation of the historical legacy of the Turkmen people, adapted to the conditions of a new era.
The publication, according to the general consensus of the participants, was a valuable gift to the Turkmen people in the lead-up to the large-scale celebration of Turkmenistan's neutrality anniversary and International Neutrality Day.
