On December 1, a meeting between Batyr Amanov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan (responsible for the oil and gas sector), and Valérie Ducros, Executive Director of the Global Gas Center (GGC) was held in Ashgabat.

During the talks, which Ducros described as a "constructive dialogue," the parties discussed key opportunities for strengthening energy cooperation, with particular attention paid to Turkmenistan's role as a country with some of the world's largest natural gas reserves.

The parties addressed issues related to the growing importance of ensuring the security of gas supplies to global markets and the stability of regional energy cooperation, according to the country's Permanent Mission to the UN Office at Geneva.

Turkmenistan's strategic goals, including expanding Turkmen gas export routes and opportunities for long-term, mutually beneficial cooperation to strengthen energy security, were key on the agenda.

The Turkmen side reaffirmed its commitment to developing effective cooperation with international energy organizations, such as the GGC.

In her comments following the meeting, Valérie Ducros expressed sincere gratitude to her Turkmen partners for their warm hospitality and emphasized that the Global Gas Center looks forward to deepening cooperation and contributing to shaping global energy dynamics.

The meeting emphasized that Turkmenistan maintains a key role as a reliable and strategic partner in the regional and global energy markets.

The GGC operates as an independent expert platform where issues of energy security, regional cooperation, infrastructure projects, and the transition to a low-carbon economy are discussed. The organization promotes a technologically pragmatic approach: natural gas, low-carbon, and renewable gases are important elements of a balanced energy transition.
