Personnel reshuffle at LG: The company appoints a new CEO and updates its leadership team
South Korean company LG Electronics has announced a major personnel reshuffle, including the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer. Starting from December 1, 2025, this position will be held by Ryu Jae-cheol, who previously successfully led the company’s key Home Appliance Solutions division.
Ryu Jae-cheol will replace Cho Joo-wan, who has served in this role for four years. The new CEO has worked at LG (formerly Goldstar) since 1989, beginning his career in the research division, and in 2021 he became the head of the home appliance division — LG Electronics’ main source of revenue.
According to LG’s leadership, these personnel changes are intended to ensure the company’s sustainable growth amid shifting consumer demand and intensifying market competition.
As part of the reshuffle, 34 employees were promoted or transferred to new roles. Among them are: 2 new presidents; 2 new vice presidents; 9 new senior vice presidents.
These large-scale appointments are part of LG’s strategy aimed at renewing its management team to achieve better operational performance in the future.
