Success of Gemini 3 and Google’s Records: Larry Page Becomes the Second Richest Person in the World
The release of the new AI model Gemini 3 triggered a historic surge in Google (Alphabet) stock. As a result, the corporation’s co-founder Larry Page rose to second place on the Forbes list with a net worth of $255 billion, while Sergey Brin reached fourth place with $236.4 billion.
Google’s stock closed the trading session up more than 6%, significantly increasing the wealth of its founders, who together hold a major share of Class B stock.
Google (Alphabet) shares have risen 67% since August of this year, driven not only by the success of Gemini 3 but also by the company’s strong financial performance.
Record revenue:
Thanks to a 34% increase in cloud segment revenue, Alphabet for the first time reported more than $100 billion in total quarterly revenue.
Forbes ranking:
Larry Page surpassed Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison ($248.8 billion), pushing him to third place. Sergey Brin also overtook Jeff Bezos. Page’s lead over Brin is explained by the fact that Page retained a larger number of shares, whereas Brin was more active in philanthropy and sold part of his holdings.
Against the backdrop of the rapid growth of tech company stocks, investors are increasingly concerned about the potential formation of a stock market bubble in the artificial intelligence sector. The decline in Oracle shares, in particular, reflects this caution.
