A New Stage of Cooperation: The Russian Language School of NCSPU Was Successfully Implemented in Ashgabat
The Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammed Azadi has become the first platform in the country to host the projects of the Russian Language School “Learning the Great” and “Teaching the Great.” The initiative, organized by Naberezhnye Chelny State Pedagogical University (NGPU) and the “My History” Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, has become an important stage in the partnership between leading universities of Turkmenistan and Russia.
Classes for students and teachers of Russian were conducted by NCSPU's Candidates of Philological Sciences Konstantin Kalinin and Alexandra Potanina. The training was held as part of the supplementary program “Innovative Strategies and Methods of Teaching the Russian Language,” designed for foreign educators.
Within the framework of the School, a series of lectures and practical sessions were held, focusing on word origins, the role of language in cultural development, and skills for meaningful text reading.
Practical sessions: Teachers studied A. V. Potanina’s original workbook and, together with Russian colleagues, developed three-level assignments aimed at forming subject-specific and cross-disciplinary competencies.
Digital resources: Special attention was given to mastering the principles of creating a lesson technological map and designing an integrated Russian language lesson using digital educational tools.
The Institute’s students also took an active part, and the result of their work was an essay about the Russian language using quotes from Russian writers.
On November 22, 2025, a ceremonial awarding of certificates to participants was held. Russian specialists expressed hope for strengthening bilateral cooperation between the educational institutions.
