At a meeting of the Turkmen government on Friday, a significant step was announced that strengthens the country's position in the international air cargo transportation system: Turkmenistan Airlines Open Joint-Stock Company has received membership status and the corresponding certificate from the International Air Cargo Association (TIACA).

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Mammetkhan Chakyev reported on this success, which is part of efforts to develop and improve the logistics capabilities of civil aviation. TIACA membership opens the door to participation in global supply chains and enhances Turkmenistan's transit attractiveness.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the country attaches great importance to developing the logistics potential of civil aviation and enhancing international cooperation in this area. Approving this achievement, the head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to intensify cooperation with foreign airlines.

The new status in TIACA will serve as a solid foundation for attracting new international partners and transforming Turkmenistan's air gateway into an effective regional logistics hub.

Turkmenistan Airlines was officially accepted into TIACA, which now boasts over 500 members, during the 2025 Air Cargo Forum, held in Abu Dhabi from November 3 to 6. Major market players such as Amazon Air Cargo and Magma Aviation also joined the forum, underscoring the high profile of the membership.

Becoming a corporate member of the association, which promotes the vision of an interconnected, sustainable, and resilient global industry, significantly enhances Turkmenistan's transit and logistics potential within the global air cargo ecosystem.
