A delegation from the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan (SEIT) paid a working visit to Malaysia to strengthen its partnership with the leading university Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN). The cooperation focuses on a key area — sustainable energy.

A major highlight of the visit was the participation of SEIT faculty members as co-organizers of the IEBMC-2025 scientific conference hosted by UNITEN’s Business School. The conference addressed the timely topic: “AI-Based Strategies for Sustainable Business Growth: Aligning Innovation with Global Goals.”

The forum brought together researchers and experts to discuss how artificial intelligence (AI) can accelerate progress toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The SEIT delegation not only contributed to the discussions but also gained valuable international experience. Faculty members presented interdisciplinary research:

• Oguljan Akmyradova (Department of Languages), who joined online, highlighted effective methods for developing communication skills and using digital tools — essential competencies for future energy-sector specialists.

• Aina Nurmyradova (Department of Languages) presented strategies for “green” business, including the use of AI for monitoring environmental impact and reducing the carbon footprint.

Participants also received opportunities to publish their research in reputable academic journals, including the Scopus-indexed Journal of Advanced Research Design, contributing to global knowledge sharing.

During the visit, leaders of SEIT and UNITEN discussed practical steps for implementing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the universities. Agreed initiatives include: student and faculty exchange programs, professional development for academic staff, and joint research and project work in the field of energy.

This cooperation reaffirms the commitment of Turkmenistan and Malaysia to promoting innovation in the energy sector and preparing highly qualified specialists.
