The Ninth Academic Conference on the Study of the History and Culture of Beiting was held from 14 to 16 November 2025 in Jimusaer County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China. The event brought together more than 80 scholars and experts from China and abroad.

The conference featured a wide range of topics related to the historical and cultural heritage of Beiting, as well as presentations by international researchers on the ancient cultures of Central Asia. The forum served as an important platform for in-depth scientific exchange.

The conference was jointly organized by the People’s Government of the Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Northwest University, and the Professional Committee on Border Archaeology of the Archaeological Society of China. Discussions also covered several archaeological subjects, including the preservation and tourism potential of Beiting’s historical monuments.

Participants were introduced to new archaeological discoveries that offer deeper insights into the historical development of the Beiting region. Experts also proposed a number of recommendations on transforming cultural heritage sites into tourism resources to support the development of the local cultural and tourism sectors.

A special presentation highlighted the results of recent archaeological research at Paryzdepe, one of the major cultural centers on the territory of present-day Turkmenistan and an important site along the ancient Silk Road. The report outlined new findings demonstrating the continuous cultural development of Paryzdepe from the Eneolithic period to the Middle Ages. Valuable artifacts discovered during excavations were showcased to conference participants.

These findings provided Chinese and international scholars with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Turkmenistan’s ancient cultural heritage.
