A concert commemorating the 150th anniversary of the birth of French composer Maurice Ravel was held at the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater. The event was part of the European Culture Days, organized with the support of the European Union, underscoring the EU's commitment to developing cultural dialogue and expanding humanitarian cooperation.

The State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan, conducted by Rasul Klychev and pianist Vladimir Mkrtumov, presented a program featuring the celebrated "Bolero" as the key piece. The performance was distinguished by composure and precise dynamics, capturing Ravel's characteristic gradual buildup of musical tension.

The composer's anniversary provided an important opportunity to revisit his legacy. Ravel's works occupy a significant place in the European musical tradition thanks to their thoughtfulness, structural clarity, and ability to combine diverse sources of inspiration—from historical motifs to contemporary rhythmic solutions.

Holding the concert as part of the European Culture Days gave the event an additional international context. The European Union regularly supports initiatives aimed at cultural exchange, and its participation in the current program underscores its enduring interest in developing cooperation in the arts.

Free admission allowed a wide audience to become part of the cultural event and become acquainted with the legacy of one of the most significant composers of the 20th century. The concert became a prominent element of the European Culture Days program and highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting classical music.
