British Professors Conduct Trainings on Inclusive Education in Turkmenistan

From November 10 to 14, professors Martin Sevier and Sarah Han from Nottingham Trent University (UK) paid a working visit to the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages. The visit took place within the framework of a British Council program aimed at accelerating English language learning in Central Asia.

The purpose of the visit was to provide methodological support and enhance the qualifications of the institute’s faculty, as well as English teachers working in Ashgabat schools.

Key activities and topics: • Training Seminar: A seminar was held for the institute’s teachers, focusing on active teaching methods and key aspects of English language instruction.

• Master Classes for Students: The guests met with graduating students, demonstrating effective techniques for teaching reading and writing.

• Inclusive Education: Special attention was given to ways of integrating inclusive education into the learning process. The professors shared practical experience in developing teaching materials and offered recommendations for working with schoolchildren.

The professors of Nottingham Trent University also visited specialized secondary schools in Ashgabat where the institute’s graduates work. During these visits, methodological recommendations were provided on the practical implementation of inclusive learning in classrooms.

The working visit was highly practice-oriented and provided significant support for improving foreign language teaching in Turkmenistan.
