The Turkmenistan-Tatarstan Working Group on Cooperation will Meet in Ashgabat with a New Composition


Ashgabat, November 15 | ORIENT. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a resolution approving the composition of the Turkmen side in the Turkmenistan-Tatarstan Working Group on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation.
This decision was made to further expand the partnership with the Republic of Tatarstan (Russian Federation) and in anticipation of the next meeting of the working group, scheduled for Ashgabat this month.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Khadzhamyrat Geldimyradov reported on preparations for the meeting during the Cabinet meeting.
The agenda includes issues of further expanding cooperation in strategically important areas, reflecting the depth of ties between Turkmenistan and Tatarstan. These include: trade, economic, oil and gas, and industrial sectors; transport, communications, and information technology; textile industry, agriculture, and environmental protection; science, education, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and cultural and humanitarian spheres.
A number of large Tatarstan enterprises are represented in Turkmenistan, including KAMAZ, Kazan Helicopters, Zelenodolsk Gorky Plant, KER-Holding, and Eidos. Last year, trade turnover between Tatarstan and Turkmenistan exceeded $39 million.
At the same time, the parties believe there is significant potential for increasing these volumes, particularly in promising areas such as oil exploration, gas transportation, automobile production, aircraft manufacturing, shipbuilding, and chemical supply.
