Tashkent Hosts the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia
The Seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia will be held in Tashkent on November 15–16, chaired by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The summit will be attended by leaders of five countries in the region: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Kakha Imnadze, Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, will also be present.
The agenda of the event includes key issues related to further strengthening regional cooperation and implementing joint projects and initiatives in priority areas. The leaders are expected to exchange views on the most pressing issues of regional and international politics.
The Consultative Meeting is expected to result in the adoption of a substantial package of multilateral documents. This was reported on the official website of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
It is noted that during the current chairmanship of Uzbekistan, over 20 major events covering various areas of cooperation have been held in this format.
