Belarus and Turkmenistan celebrate the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations
Days of Belarusian culture in honor of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Belarus is organized in Ashgabat. Their program includes performances by famous artists and creative groups, including the Syabry pop group, feature films show, a meeting of writers and poets of the two countries.
The supplies of Belarusian farming and automotive machines dominates in the trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Belarus.
Turkmenistan purchased about 6 thousand MTZ tractors and more than 10 thousand MAZ trucks in the period of 2009-2017. The trade houses that opened in Ashgabat and Minsk contribute to the expansion of the commodity nomenclature of mutual supplies.
In recent years, the countries have stepped up cooperation in the scientific and technical sphere. Cooperation in the field of education is developing successfully. At present, about 9 thousand Turkmen citizens study at Belarusian universities.
On May 2, 2016 in Minsk and on March 30, 2017 in Ashgabat the solemn opening ceremonies of new buildings of the Embassies with the participation of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko were held.
