Frankfurt am Main, October 30 | ORIENT. Turkmenistan Economy Days kicked off in Frankfurt am Main, Germany's business hub. The large-scale two-day event, held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, brought together representatives of key ministries and industry agencies of Turkmenistan, as well as executives from major German companies and financial institutions, such as Siemens, Thyssenkrupp, CLAAS, and John Deere.

The first day of the Forum, October 30, was devoted to strategic areas of bilateral cooperation, covering energy, industry, agricultural technology, and healthcare.

The Forum opened with a general session chaired by Kemal Kutlyev, Deputy Head of the Foreign Economic Relations Department of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. A video about the achievements and investment opportunities of the Turkmen economy was shown during the session.

The central event was an overview speech by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyev and a welcome address by Michael Harms, Managing Director of the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations (BERE).

The day's work was organized into four thematic sessions, presenting specific investment projects and opportunities for technological partnerships.

Session 1: Strategy for Trade and Economic Relations

The first session, moderated by Michael Harms, focused on the current state and prospects for developing trade and economic relations between the two countries. Presentations were made by Babaniyaz Yalakov, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, as well as heads of banking and public institutions, including the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Turkmen-German Forum Association.

Session 2: Investments in Energy and Chemicals

This section attracted the most attention from major industrial players. Representatives of the Turkmengas and Turkmennebit state concerns presented investment projects in the oil, gas, and chemical industries. The German side was represented by Maxim Zubov, Vice President for Central Asia at Siemens Energy, and Christopher Frank, Regional Director of Thyssenkrupp Uhde GmbH.

The participants discussed the implementation of advanced German technologies for the modernization and diversification of the Turkmen fuel and energy sector.

Session 3: Agro-Industrial Complex and Textiles

The session, dedicated to agricultural technology and light industry, highlighted Turkmenistan's potential in the export-import sector. Per Broderzen (German Agricultural Association) and Turkmenistan's Minister of Textile Industry Nurmuhammet Orazgeldyev discussed opportunities for cooperation in specific areas.

The focus was on the world's largest manufacturers of agricultural machinery and equipment: CLAAS Global Sales GmbH (Michael Bayer) and John Deere Waldorf International GmbH (Peter Sachse), as well as textile machinery manufacturer KARL MAYER STOLL (Patrick Wohlfahrt).

Session 4: New Horizons for Cooperation

The final session focused on healthcare, industry, transport, and communications. Speakers, including Deputy Ministers Azat Ovezov (Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Industry of Turkmenistan) and Bayramguly Tatov (Industry and Construction of Turkmenistan), as well as Daniel Frisch, a representative of Siemens Healthineers, discussed the implementation of German pharmaceutical, medical, and construction technologies.

The transport and logistics sector (Turkmenhowayollary State Service) and industrial innovation (VDMA, German Association of Mechanical Engineers) played a significant role in the discussion.

Document Signing and Results

The first day of the Forum concluded with a signing ceremony for bilateral cooperation documents, cementing the agreements reached. In the afternoon, bilateral meetings (B2B and B2G) were held, providing Turkmen and German companies with a direct platform to discuss specific projects, investments, and the creation of industrial alliances.
