During a working meeting in Washington, representatives of the Coursera platform presented to the delegation of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan the possibilities for systematic partnership. The focus of cooperation is to provide access to up-to-date content from leading global universities and companies, as well as to introduce analytical tools for managing the quality of education.

Coursera showcased an extensive catalog that includes courses and programs from Stanford University, the University of Michigan, and Ivy League universities. Additionally, certified programs from global technology leaders such as Google, Meta, IBM, and Amazon Web Services are available.

It is expected that access to this content, along with the use of built-in objective assessment tools, will allow Turkmen universities to align their curricula and teaching methodologies with international standards.

A key component of Coursera’s proposal is an integrated system that views education as a managed cycle of “content — assessment — analytics — management decisions.”

Administrators and instructors will gain access to visual monitoring dashboards, which will enable them to:

• Track students’ skill growth,

• Identify early gaps in preparation,

• Adjust learning trajectories and course plans in a timely manner.

This approach aims to eliminate formal crediting without real knowledge, ensuring that a graduate who receives a certificate has indeed mastered the material.

Coursera proposed starting with a limited pilot project for senior students and faculty in priority fields (IT, engineering, energy). The Turkmen side expressed interest and confirmed its readiness to further develop the mechanisms of cooperation.
