In the festival of Novruz in Kazan the culture of Turkmen people was presented
Today in the city of Kazan (Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation) took place large scale solemn festive event on the occasion of the holiday of Novruz in which course the Turkmen diaspora presented the culture and customs of the country.
In particular, Turkmens of the Republic of Tatarstan together with Turkmen students with assistance of the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Kazan) organized an exhibition in which cultural values of Turkmen people were displayed: books, national ornaments, carpet handiwork and certainly, Turkmen pilaf.
Students from Turkmenistan, with pride put on in this holiday national clothes, acquainted visitors of the event with the culture and customs of their native land. The dancing ensemble of Turkmen students showed participants of the celebratory action the national dance "Kushtdepdi", an intangible cultural heritage of mankind. Songs in Turkmen and foreign languages were warmly met by the gathered. In front of the Turkmen exhibition hall the whole turns of interested persons were formed to taste dishes of Turkmen cuisine.
Besides it, during the holiday the contest «The best pilaf of the holiday of Novruz» took place, and the dish prepared by the Turkmen diaspora of Tatarstan appeared among the three of the best by the assessment of the jury.
Foreign diplomats, the management of the ministry of culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, representatives of national societies of the people of the Russian Federation, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and others took part in the spring action.
