On October 7, a meeting between the heads of the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Croatia took place in Ashgabat. Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov received Croatia's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Gordan Grlić-Radman, who arrived at the head of a representative delegation.

The main outcome of the meeting was the signing of a Cooperation Program between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries for 2026–2027, which outlined an action plan for deepening strategic dialogue.

The ministers set the direction for bilateral relations in the political, economic, and humanitarian spheres, emphasizing that personal contacts at the highest level are a key driver of interstate ties.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation on international platforms, particularly the UN, EU, and OSCE. It was emphasized that Croatia consistently supports Turkmenistan's neutral status and global initiatives aimed at strengthening peace and sustainable development in the region and beyond.

The partners identified trade and economic cooperation as a key focus area, moving on to discuss specific sectoral projects. Attention was paid to such sectors as shipbuilding, pharmaceuticals, construction and textiles, high technology, and tourism.

The ministers emphasized the crucial role of the Turkmen-Croatian Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation in implementing these plans, a meeting of which will be held during the visit.

The parties also confirmed their interest in strengthening ties in education, science, and healthcare, concluding the meeting with the signing of a bilateral roadmap for the next two years.

Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić-Radman also met with Parliament Speaker Dunjagozel Gulmanova in the Mejlis today. During the conversation, opportunities for exchanging legislative experience were highlighted.

In parallel with the negotiations, a business forum was held in Ashgabat with representatives of the business communities of both countries, signaling a transition from discussions to practical steps.
