"Young Naturalist" at the Environmental Forefront: 70,000 Members in Three Years

The public organization Young Naturalist celebrated its third anniversary, confirming its status as one of the fastest-growing and most influential environmental movements in the country. The gala event in Ashgabat Park not only summarized its work but also highlighted the movement's strategic shift from localized campaigns to a large-scale impact on environmental culture and education.

Over the past three years, Young Naturalist has demonstrated impressive momentum, becoming a significant force in the environmental movement. In her speech, the organization's head and founder, Leyli Shikhmadova, outlined key achievements: the total membership has exceeded 70,000, 73 training seminars and seven excursions to nature reserves have been conducted, the organization has planted approximately 30,000 tree seedlings across the country, and nearly a hundred educational materials have been published in popular media, demonstrating a high level of outreach.
As Shikhmadova emphasized, the movement's main goal is to foster environmental awareness among the younger generation and foster an active role in environmental protection.

The event's high profile underscored the organization's growing influence. Invited guests included diplomats, representatives of partner organizations, cultural figures, as well as journalists and bloggers.
Particular attention is paid to joint initiatives with international organizations. The celebration included the announcement of the results of the "Ozone and Climate" scientific and creative competition, organized jointly by UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) and UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) for the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer.

The celebratory event was co-organized by TMT Consulting Group, a major consulting firm known for hosting international and government forums, including investment and economic events. This demonstrates the active support of large domestic businesses for environmental initiatives.

At the end of the event, participants planted a symbolic tree. The organization invites young citizens to actively join its initiatives.

The annual charitable contribution is 20 manat, and participation in the events is open to everyone. For more information, please email: tebigatchy.jemg@gmail.com.
