The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced new visa categories, including those for technology specialists, such as experts in artificial intelligence. These visas can be issued for both single and multiple entries. The primary requirement is a letter from a company operating in the technology sector.

Major General Suhail Saeed Al-Haili, head of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP), stated that this reform reflects the UAE's efforts to strengthen its position as a leading hub for technology startups and international cooperation.

In addition, the UAE has introduced a new event visa, which allows foreigners to attend festivals, exhibitions, and other public events. A new multiple-entry tourist visa has also been created for passengers of cruise ships and leisure vessels, which is issued through licensed tourism companies.

The changes also include truck driver visas, which can now be issued with insurance and guarantees from transportation companies. The visa rules for visiting friends and family have also been updated, with the minimum income for the sponsor varying from 4,000 to 15,000 dirhams, depending on the degree of relationship.

Citizens of most countries can still stay in the UAE without a visa for 30 to 90 days.
