Preparations are underway for the meeting of the Turkmenistan-UN Strategic Advisory Council
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov discussed with UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Dmitry Shlapachenko the main areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN and its agencies.
At the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 10, it was noted that the regular session of the UN General Assembly had begun in New York the day before, which had become an important international platform for discussing topical issues on the global agenda.
During the conversation, special attention was paid to the organization of the upcoming meeting of the Turkmenistan-UN Strategic Advisory Council.
In the context of preparations for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the UN, the Minister expressed his readiness to assist in holding relevant events in the country.
Rashid Meredov also held a meeting with Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Kakha Imnadze.
The subject of the conversation was the Priority Positions of Turkmenistan at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. It was emphasized that many of them correlate with the mandate of the Center. In this regard, the Turkmen side confirmed its readiness for active cooperation with the UNRCCA on their implementation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
