Turkmenistan prepares to celebrate Independence Day and other social news
The development of the social sphere, including education, science, culture and sports, was discussed at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on the results of 8 months on Friday. Deputy Prime Ministers Bahar Seyidova and Bayramgul Orazdurdyeva presented reports on the work of the complexes they supervise, talking about both current achievements and plans for the near future.
A number of cultural events dedicated to the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence will be held in the country in the near future. Among them are the finals of the competitions for talented children "Garaşsyzlygyň merjen däneleri" ("Pearls of Independence") and the vocal TV competition "Ýaňlan, Diýarym!" ("Sing, My Fatherland!"), the winners of which are awarded Presidential Prizes.
The culmination of the Independence Day celebrations on September 27 will be a state concert, a flower-laying ceremony at the Independence Monument, and a ceremonial parade in Ashgabat. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to ensure a high level of organization of all planned events and the timely opening of new socio-cultural facilities.
Over the past eight months, the education system has been actively reformed, advanced teaching methods have been introduced, which has allowed Turkmen schoolchildren and students to successfully participate in international Olympiads. In the scientific sector, systematic work has been carried out to coordinate research and train scientific personnel.
In the healthcare sector, modern methods of practical medicine have been introduced. The report particularly notes the role of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation in providing assistance to children in need of care, which finances treatment and operations for sick children.
The sphere of physical education and sports is also actively developing. During the reporting period, Turkmen athletes won 640 medals in various competitions. International tournaments in goresh, alysh and chess were successfully held in the capital.
Summarizing the reports, the head of state focused on the upcoming events dedicated to the Day of Knowledge. As a sign of special attention to the future generation, the President instructed to organize the donation of computers to first-graders on behalf of the National Leader of the Turkmen people on the occasion of the beginning of the new school year.
